The next morning we entered Glacier Bay, with blue skies and glassy seas. |
Our first stop was at the Johns Hopkins Glacier. |
Even our huge ship was dwarfed by the surrounding scenery. |
We then moved on to the "dirty" Grand Pacific Glacier. |
Mt. Fairweather towers 15,000 feet over the glacier. |
Sometimes the high-altitude winds blow snow off the mountain peaks. |
We spent an hour watching the Margerie Glacier, hoping it would "calve," but no such luck today. These ice walls are 200 feet high. |
And the Reid Glacier was on our side of the ship on our way out of Glacier Bay.
