In early November 2006 we exchanged our Marriott Desert Springs timeshare for the Marriott Ko'Olina Beach Club on the western shore of Oahu, Hawaii. We exchanged via Interval International, but it can also be done via RCI. The weather was great, with beautiful sunny days and temperatures around 80 degrees. We had a wonderful week of sightseeing, shopping, snorkeling, relaxing by the pool, and laying on the beach. Click on any of these photos to see a larger version.

During the flight to Hawaii, I was surprised to see a cloud outside my window, because there shouldn't be clouds at 36,000 feet. Then I realized that we were flying alongside the contrail of another plane somewhere ahead of us.

As we approached Oahu, we had a view of the chain of Hawaiian islands stretching off to the east, consisting of Lanai, Maui and Hawaii.

The entryway and lobby of the Marriott Ko'Olina were beautiful, looking more like a luxury hotel than a timeshare. The architecture was very open, taking advantage of the wonderful breeze and the beautiful views.

We were given a room in the new Moana building, which is the second of four planned buildings. The decor and furnishings were quite nice.

The quality of materials was very high, equal to the Four Seasons Aviara resort we visited in 2002, which was our previous "gold standard".

The bedroom had an adjacent alcove or sitting room with large windows.

Chris enjoyed using the free wireless internet access to email photos to family & friends.
