The view from the villa includes a beautiful stretch of coastline called Conchas Chinas ("Chinese Shells"). Click here for a panoramic movie of the view (Note: It's a 5 MB file, and you need Quicktime to view it).

The very large Frigate Birds (also called Man o' War Birds) really seem to enjoy soaring on the updraft created by the breeze flowing up the face of the Ocho Cascadas building. Sometimes the birds will hover right in front of our villa.

We also enjoy counting the groups of pelicans that fly past. Somewhere we read a theory that pelicans always fly in prime numbers, and it seems to hold true. Here's a group of eleven, which is indeed a prime number.

Ann is probably smiling here because she just counted a record-high number of pelicans.
