Tolosa Winery Tour, Wine Tasting & Picnic Lunch


Tolosa Winery also had a nice tasting room, with a very modern decor. We bought a bottle of their Pinot Noir to have with our lunch.	We had another great picnic lunch on the Tolosa patio, which overlooked all the activity at the back of the winery.

Big trucks rolled in loaded with grapes, and dumped the clusters into the destemmer/crusher.	After destemming & crushing, the resulting grape "must" is moved into the bladder press.

Next, the juice is pumped into the stainless steel fermentation tanks inside the winery.	If you got tired of watching the harvest activity, you could turn the other direction to admire the vineyards.

On our last day, we checked out the San Luis Obispo Railroad Historic District.	We concluded our vacation with a nice pizza in the attractive restaurant Naples, and then headed home.
