In September 2009 we traveled to Scottsdale, AZ. We exchanged our Marriott Desert Springs timeshare for the Westin Kierland Villas timeshare resort. The weather was great, with beautiful sunny days and temperatures in the 80s. We had a wonderful week of sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying the resort's wonderful pool complex (relaxing in a cabana, floating in the lazy river, & riding the water slides). The resort consists of seven 4-story buildings. We stayed in Building 5, on the 4th floor, which had a nice view of the golf course and mountains. Here is a resort property map.

We were in a full 2-bedroom unit, which was very nicely furnished. Here is a floorplan layout.

The unit had two balconies. We used both of them, because the shade varied, depending upon the time of day. This balcony is outside the living room & master bedroom.

We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the ducks and fish in the 'creek' below ...

... and the birds that came around looking for handouts.

We also got a kick out of the 'synchronized mowing team'. These two mowers would sometimes be heading straight for each other, and miss colliding by just inches.
|
After the mowers, these two 'rakers' would race around at high speed, spreading out any clumps of cut grass.
