The beautiful Dunedin Railway Station opened in 1906. |
We rented a car and enjoyed driving through the rolling green hills of the countryside. |
And many of those hills were dotted with sheep. Summer is time for shearing, and this particular group had just been shorn. | The Moeraki Boulders north of town were fascinating. |
Some were small... | ... and some were large. |
They use different terms Down Under then we do. In addition to "Panelbeaters" we saw an auto repair shop whose sign claimed "Smash Repair." And an antique store labeled its business as "Trash Recovery." |
At the Royal Albatross
Center we saw several of the huge birds nesting and flying. They look
like an ordinary seagull, until you realize that they have a 10-foot
wingspan!
