The next morning, we explored the Exhibition Center in Darling Harbour, built for the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Fortunately, we didn't encounter any swooping birds!

The Chinese Garden of Friendship was very charming, and we spent quite awhile there.

The Garden was certainly an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city.

Our final sightseeing stop was the fabulous Sydney Opera House, which we never tired of admiring (or photographing).

At last, a chance to rest weary feet!

There were certainly some interesting characters (the Aussies called them "buskers") around the Circular Quay, hoping for handouts.
It was a hot day, and we don't know how this "aluminum foil lady" could survive the heat.
