This is the view from Ko'Olina Lagoon Two, looking north towards the Marriott Ihilani hotel on Lagoon One. There is currently no development on this lagoon.

Everyone told us that Lagoon Two was the best for snorkeling, and also the most likely place to see a sea turtle. So we rented gear, and dove in. And we saw many of the fish on this fish identification card that they gave us to wear around our neck.

And finally, for the first time ever, we got to swim with a sea turtle!

I was surprised to learn that it isn't possible to drive all the way around Oahu, the most-developed Hawaiian island. So we drove north along the West Shore, towards the end of the road.

This beautiful valley was alongside the road, north of Makaha.

This private ranch was out in the middle of nowhere.

We reached the end of the road at Ka'ena Point, and turned around.
