Our friends Scott & Karin came to visit for the weekend, since they live just a few hours away. And Chris' parents Brad & Marge also came to visit. And unlike our 1999 vacation in Hilton Head, none of the visitors brought a hurricane with them this time!

.Like many Florida beachfront resorts, there were plant-covered dunes between the Marriott resort buildings and the beach, which you crossed via this boardwalk.

 There were plenty of umbrellas and "clamshell" canopies for those of us who prefer shade at the beach.

We rented bikes to ride the 6-mile Palm Beach Trail (aka the Lake Worth Trail) thru Palm Beach. The many Poinciana trees were in full bloom.

This fig tree, related to banyan trees, had some very impressive roots.

There was always a lot of activity on the water. We enjoyed watching the gambling cruiseship come & go, as well as the parasails, catamarans, luxury yachts, jetskis, kayaks, snorkelers, etc.
