Malecon, Los Arcos, Plaza de Armas, Cathedral Guadalupe

The southern end of the Malecon ("boardwalk") is anchored by the Fuente de los Delfines ("Fountain of the Dolphins") sculpture (also known as the Friendship Fountain. Next to that is the Los Arcos ("The Arches") Amphitheater (not to be confused with the Los Arcos Marine Sanctuary south of town at Mismaloya. Puerto Vallarta Malecon Losa Arcos Amphitheater From Los Arcos, you can see across the street to the Plaza de Armas, the city's main square. The plaza contains a bandstand from which the city band performs on weekend afternoons.
Adjacent to the Plaza is La Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe ("Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe"), one of Puerto Vallarta's most famous landmarks. Puerto Vallarta Rio Cuale Heading northward along the Malecon boardwalk, you soon encounter this bronze whale sculpture. The entire length of the Malecon is an outdoor sculpture gallery, with many pieces of public artwork.
